Ultimately, an Archicad Schedule is a list of parameters.
A Door Schedule is a list of doors and the parameters for each door. A Finish Schedule is a list of Zones, and a list of their finish parameters. Keeping this in mind can save you a lot of aggravation.
The best place to start is to figure out for yourself what you want to include and what you want to exclude.
For example: You want to include all doors, and show their ID number, Room From, Room To, Size, Hardware Group, and Fire Rating. Do you want to include empty openings? Low-wall doors into a service area?
Once you know this, you are ready to start actually making a schedule.
