Walls intersect with walls on hidden layers

wallmissingline.gif

On this image, a short part of the wall's bordering line is missing. Why?

Wall intersection is controlled by an additional Layer attribute: the Intersection Level. If the joining walls are not on the same layer but their layers are on the same intersection level then they'll 'join' regardless if one of the two layers is hidden. This is the cause for the missing line above.

To cure this all you need is to move the layer (in our case 'Other Walls') to another intersection level. To do this, open up the Options/Layers/Layer Settings dialog box and select the layer 'Other Walls'. At the bottom of the layer list it's name will be displayed. In the small box to the left of this change the number i.e. to '2'.

This way this layer will be on the second intersection level, and the Floor Plan will now look like this:

You can have as many as 65535 intersection levels.

Note: Intersection levels affect the 3D intersection of Elements as well. Only elements on the same intersection level will cut or connect to each other in 3D view.
