In ArchiCAD14 a new Cinema4D Add-On was introduced due a technological improvement.
newer version add-on: 4D R12 / CINEMA 4D R12 File older version add-on: 4D R11/11.5 / CINEMA 4D File
In case of you enable All Files in the Opening Dialogue, the Can't open in this dialog error message will appear on screen.
Solution
Select the proper file format from the list while opening a C4D file or disable the unused C4D Add-On in the Add-on manager.
