Why Dimensions, Labels and Zones can't be part of a group ?
Dimensions, Labels and Zones can't be part of a group, and when you break a Hotlink, such elements will "fall" out of the group that is created from the Hotlink.
This is because these elements might have relation to other elements (dimension belongs top a wall, label belongs to a window, zones are relative to walls), and it is not clear how they are supposed to work, if they are part of a group, but their "parent" element isn't - e.g. should the link break if you move the dimension as part of a group, but not the wall? There could be anomalies in how they behave as part of a group, so the design decision is that they can't be grouped. (They can, however, be part of a Hotlink, because you can't partly modify a Hotlink, the relationship between elements is the same as long as the Hotlink is live)
