Whenever you use a Project created with an older ArchiCAD version, it is advisable to use the Libraries of the older version. Library Objects are reworked from version to version and you might not get the exact same result from the ArchiCAD 8 version of the same Library Object you got in the earlier version.
The following details how to create a subset of the ArchiCAD 7.0 USA Library, so it can be loaded besides the ArchiCAD 8 Libraries when working with ArchiCAD 7.0 Project in AC 8. Here are the steps:
From "Object library 70/MACROS 70/D-W Macros 70/D-W Accessories 70", move the following files to an archive folder:
comp_wall_end_70.ism
comp_wall_endr_70.ism
Master_gdl.gdl
WCurved2D.ism
WCurved2D_Sp.ism
From "Object Library 70/MACROS 70/Structure Macros 70/Stair Macros 70", move the following file to an archive folder:
Spiral_Stair.ism
The reason for doing this is so that you will not get 'Duplicate Names' error messages, since the above files are included in the ArchiCAD 8 Libraries as well with the same name. If you have Library Objects with duplicate names you cannot be sure which one the program will use and it can lead to unexpected results. So you should always work it out so you don't have such problems with loaded Libraries.
In the AC 8 Library Manager, besides AC 8 Libraries, you should load:
From the "Object Library 70" folder, you'll need to ADD the following folders:

From the "Object Library 70/ADD-ON Library 70" folder, you'll need to ADD the following folders:
