The standard OLE-based spellchecking in ArchiCAD does not work on Mac OS X in native mode.
Download a freeware utility from http://www.eg.bucknell.edu/~excalibr/excalibur.html called Excalibur.
Note: We tested Excalibur 4.0 on Mac OS X (available from http://www.eg.bucknell.edu/~excalibr/excaldload.html). In case you experience problems with 4.02, download version 4.0.
Excalibur is a LaTeX Aware Spelling Checker, written by Rick Zaccone and Robert Gottshall. It supports the following languages: US and British English, Catalan, French, Dutch, German, Italian, Manx-Gaelic, Norwegian, and Spanish.
- Download it from the above mentioned page, and place it where you like.
In ArchiCAD, go to Tools/Spell Checker, and choose Word Services [second choice from the bottom].
Now go to Tools/Spell Checker, and choose Open Spell Checker.
- Spellchecker will now ask you to show the spellchecker. Point to the Excalibur using the browser dialog.
- Spellchecker will now use Excalibur to check spelling in ArchiCAD.
