When using the WALLHOLE GDL command you have the possibility of defining an optional direction vector for the cut opening in the wall. This direction vector can be any vector in space. In case this vector is a negative vector (i.e. its Z component is a negative number [e.g. 0, 0, -1]), the sides of the cut opening will switch places. The top will become the bottom, and vice versa (see illustration at the WALLHOLE command in ArchiCAD Help - j1 and j3 will swap).

Direction vector is defined as negative - top and bottom sides of opening will swap

In case you defined status values for the visibility of the top and bottom edges of the opening (ArchiCAD Help - Chapter 8.1) so some edges will be not visible, you will need to consider this. If you have a negative direction vector, you need to change you status codes accordingly.

For example, if you wanted to set the upper edge of a WALLHOLE segment to be not visible, you would use '11' as the status code for that segment. But if you have a negative direction vector, you would use status code '14' to achieve the same result.
