In the About ArchiCAD® splash screen (Help/About ArchiCAD®... menu item on Windows, Apple/About ArchiCAD®... menu item on Mac OS 9.x, ArchiCAD/About ArchiCAD®... menu item on MacOS X), you can see the build number of the program in the lower right corner. This is sometimes handy when checking versions of the program.
Sometimes a patch modifies some files of the ArchiCAD package (or even ArchiCAD.exe), but in such cases the build number displayed above remains the same. You can find this same piece of information on Windows by right-clicking the ArchiCAD.exe file and choosing Properties. Then in the Version Tab Page, you will find this build number. On the Mac, select the ArchiCAD program file and Get Info on it.
Unfortunately, there is a system bug on the Mac, which might cause an incorrect number (the build number of the latest patch) to be displayed in the Get Info Dialog. It can happen in rare cases just after a system restart. This is because the build number displayed in the Get Info Dialog is cached and is sometimes incorrectly selected.
