TechTip of the Month Contest Winner of June 2003:
Haneef Tayob's tip on sending out only parts of the project from ArchiCAD!
"(...)
4. Unless you Publish a plotmaker layout to .DWF (then tediously open it in ArchiCAD and resave to DWG), I can't see any other way to include only visible parts of a drawing, i.e. If you crop a large storey/plan and indicate one room on a plotmaker sheet, when you publish it to dwg/dxf, the resultant dwg/dxf contains the entire storey in モデルスペース. This is not good if file sizes and security are an issue."
The solution described above is one alternative - but, there is another possible way to do it that should be considered:
- In your project file, create a new Publishing set with the details of the plans that you want to send out.
Publish the set with Publisher to a separate folder, making use of the Crop image to zoom option. (see screenshot below)
- Now open the DWFs in ArchiCAD and save them as DWG files. This way the consultants working in AutoCAD will not receive the entire project in モデルスペース.
