From the 2004 version AutoCAD supports using True Color and Color Book colors.
This tip is useful to track color conversion of AutoCAD layers using True Color or Color Book color setting.
The AC9 is capable to open 2000 and 2004 format DWGs, so the colors are converted by the Translator.
If you open the 2004 file directly in ArchiCAD, the Translator converts the colors in the same way as AutoCAD from 2004 to 2000 format, so both the 2000 and 2004 version dwgs objects will have the same color in pln (exept the layer 0, where the color 0 will be color 7).
(Note: If you save the 2004 format DWGs as 2000 format, AutoCAD uses it's own color conversion table to match the True Color and Color Book colors to the nearest AutoCAD color (one of the 255). Opening this file in AutoCAD 2000, a proxy information dialog appears to indicate the proxy information of the colors, what you can gain if you reopen the file with the 2004 or later AutoCAD version. If you open this 2000 file In ArchiCAD, the proxy information will be lost.)
