Difference between the Margin Options, 'Use Printer Margin' and 'Use Layout Margin'
The Printer Margin is an attribute of the printer: the zone where the printer physically cannot print. The Layout margin can be set at the Master Layout settings under Size and Margin settings, and is shown with a blue frame on the layout.
Graphisoft provides default values for Layout Margins that usually bigger than the most of the printers' margin. So these layouts can be printed without any problem.
In practice the problem can arise if the layout margin is narrower, so the layout cannot fit to the paper printable area. (it can happen if the user sets a particular printer margin for a layout margin, but the file will be (later) sent to another printer that has wider margin.)
Fit to page means that it uses only one page.
In this case using the Printer Margin will drag the layout into the printable area, and if it is necessary it will be printed less than its 100% size.
Using the Layout Margin the Layout size will be 100%, but the overrunning part on the wider printer margin won't (cannot) be printed. It is marked on the Print Preview by changing from the blue frame to red:
If the Layout Margin is smaller in case of Custom size 100% and using Printer Margin the Layout will be printed on more pages
Setting a smaller value in the custom size can result in fitting the layout on one page.
If increasing or reducing size the point given at the Layout Positioning will be anchored.
