Issue
On Windows, when saving something as TIFF in ArchiCAD, the saved TIFF file can not be opened by the Windows Imaging program, although it is its own format.
Cause
In any other picture viewing or editing software, the TIFF file can be opened and viewed just as well as in ArchiCAD.
ArchiCAD writes out all image formats through the QuickTime engine. For TIFF files, the default setting for compression in the QuickTime engine is 'PackBits'.
The Windows Imaging application does not know this compression method, this is why it cannot open the TIFF files.
Solution
Workaround: in the Save Plan as Dialog, select 'TIFF Image' in the File Type field. Click on the Options button, and select 'None' in the Compression drop-down list.
