Issue
- GS changed the way % fills are represented. Fine, but it does not work for plotting,as implemented in AC10.
- The following fills will plot as Solid Fill from AC10:
- % 25
- % 50
- % 75
- Note that you can prove that it is not the fault of your plotter by just plotting to a spool folder, and placing the resulting PLT into an ArchiCAD Layout as a drawing. You can even explode the PLT and then select the % fill to see what it really is.
- . Just think of how many poor users just thought that their plotter or the driver was at fault.
Cause
- Bitmap % fills not properly processed in HPGL2 by ArchiCAD 10.
- Clearly, the developers who implemented the new way of doing % fills did not test their work properly.
Solution
- Here are several:
- 1.) Print instead of Plot.
- 2.) Use Solid fills with gray pens.
3.) Edit the bitmap pattern for the fill to force vectorial fill output.
4.) "Beat the Developers"
