Issue

Under Mac OS 9.x, the following error message may appear while importing views from a PLN file under PlotMaker 3: "Error while starting Background ArchiCAD".

Cause

The reason for this is that ArchiCAD needs at the suggested memory size under MacOS 9.x. The minimum memory will not be enough as in case of the normal ArchiCAD program; it always has to be at least the suggested size.

Solution

There are two solutions to this:

1. Set Preferred size in the Get Info dialog of the Background ArchiCAD program to at least the amount shown in the Suggested size field.
2. Increase the amount of virtual memory in your system. If the Suggested size is 256000 KB and you have 100000 KB of free virtual memory, then increase the virtual memory size with at least their difference (156000 KBs).
